We are considering switching our contact management database (civiCRM) from Joomla to WordPress. However, from what I understand, WordPress only has 5 permissions levels (administrator, editor, authors, contributors, and subscribers) that mostly pertain to editing the website rather than editing the information in CiviCRM (or contact management database). Is this true? I thought it would be more like Joomla where we can customize the different types of permissions. For example, for volunteers we have created a “publisher” permission that lets them look up contacts within our database, but they cannot add a new contact or delete existing contacts.
Is there some way (plug-in perhaps?) to customize the different permissions levels that access the contact management database?
Thank you for your help!
