I had the Classic Editor plugin loaded BEFORE updating to WordPress v5.

However, one of my many websites is forcing me to have to click on Classic Editor or the posts open in the Block view: https://www.eparrs.com/temp/

I KNOW it is NOT an issue with the theme as 3 other websites use this theme and your plugin responds PERFECTLY with them… as it does with ALL of the other websites I have installed your plugin on.

It is just this ONE site that is being a royal pain for me. I NEED to be able to use the Clone option that appears when I mouse over the area as it did before WP v5.

WP may becoming idiot proof by adding the page builder to it but is fast becoming not so user-friendly for those of us who are familiar with WP previously.

Any help you can offer me will be greatly appreciated.

The Classic Editor plugin “remembers” the editor used last time for each post (when you have enabled “Allow users to switch…”). It is best to not switch editors when editing. So if you have started a post in Gutenberg you will need to click the link to switch to classic, one time only.

If you always have to click that link, it’s a bug and we can try to diagnose it and fix it 🙂

I am the ONLY one with access to this all of the websites I mentioned, including the one that is NOT acting right.

As stated, I had the Classic Editor plugin installed BEFORE updating the sits to WP v5 and this site is the ONLY one that refuses to hide the new Block view and it is causing me more work (and frustration) then you can imagine.

It IS a bug… and YES, plleeeeease fix it? I’d be forever beholden to you if you can.

Can send you the URL… even the login… but it would need to be in a private message, obviously.

    THANK YOU!

Could you check your settings on that site against the screenshots: https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/classic-editor/#screenshots. Is the “Allow users to switch editors” set to “Yes”?

Found the “Allow users to switch editors” was set to YES under Settings > Writing, which once changed to NO, the “All Posts” view no longer displays the Block Editor option. Yeaaaaaaaah!

Also noticed that once WordPress (WP) updated to v5.0.2, my post template DID finally open in the Classic Editor when I selected Clone from the options below the template. Am guessing WP was causing me the biggest grief.

What a pain WordPress has become. They spend far too much time mollycoddling newbies and far too little including important options like LazyLoad.

Will close this ticket… Thank YOU!
