Classic Paragraph Block inserts itself automatically

    Hello!

    The Classic Paragraph block has been automatically inserting itself whenever I click in a blank area of the page. If someone can help me to fix this, that would be great!

    (The link will take the viewer to a short video clip on my Google Drive showing the issue.)

    Hi there!

    I’m here to help.

    That is not a default behavior in WordPress Gutenberg(block editor). For your reference, this is how the default block editor works – https://ww.wp.xz.cn/gutenberg/

    You seem to have other plugins that adds functionalities to the editor.

    Could you send me a screenshot of your plugin list so I can check which one of them is causing it? You can also do the troubleshooting step of deactivating plugins. Here’s our guide: Temporarily deactivating plugins

    Hi, Karla…

    Thank you for your rapid reply. Disabling all of the plugins was the first thing I checked several weeks ago, and it made no difference. I did it again- same thing- problem still exists.
    However… I just now disabled the Kadence theme, enabled the WP Twenty Twenty-Three default theme, and the issue remains!

    I guess I now have to find a support forum for WP core issues that are not Plug-in or Theme related.

    UPDATE

    • It turns out it WAS a plug-in after all! It was the “Advanced Editor Tools” plug-in, which “introduces a “Classic Paragraph” block for the block editor (Gutenberg).” I love the usefulness of this block, but this plug-in has NOT been updated for the past 7 months or so.
    • Please DON’T recommend using the “Health Check” Plugin for deactivating plugins/troubleshooting. Over a third of its users have given negative feedback along the lines of the plugin bricking their site.
