clean journal – active theme is broken

    Updated to WordPress 4.7 today and updated Clean Journal. However, the system now states: the active theme is broken. This means the site has reverted to running Twenty Sixteen theme. I have attempted to activate the Clean Journal but it won’t. I can’t delete it and start again either. See: http://www.europeancounselling.eu/

    We are about to launch a number of journals and now hope it won’t happen to the other ‘clean journal’ sites. So not keen to update them.

    Hello,

    We are sorry that you are facing this issue, but the theme is working fine for us and has no issue not even the one you are explaining.

    Have you tried deleting the theme from your Cpanel and downloading it again?
    Please recall if you have made any changes to the theme’s code. If you have you should always do it via child theme.

    Hi @drstephenpalmer,

    This should not have happened. WordPress update should not mess with themes/plugins installation.
    Can you try deleting the theme from dashboard and reinstalling it again? Let me know if you have further trouble. As @wensolutionsupport stated, for quick response, please try our support forum at https://catchthemes.com/support-forum.

    Hi both

    Thank you for your responses. The theme appears NOT to be on the system but if I attempt to install it again it states that it is already installed. Then when I activate it, then it comes up with the note ‘active theme is broken’ again.

    So I can’t find it to delete it but if I attempt to reload it then it’s already there. I realise that this sounds silly! However, all the other various themes I have uploaded work.

    I’m using one.com ISP so I can I can easily install wordpress.

    My concern now is that I don’t want to update the other two sites in case they also crash and we were going to launch an academic journal this month.
