• Hello CleanTalk Support Team,

We are experiencing an issue with the comment functionality on our website.

Since we implemented a paywall for our articles, visitors can no longer submit comments. The comment form is displayed, but the commenting process does not work as expected after the paywall integration was activated. The Error says: “The comment section was deactivated.” But it was not.

Before the paywall was installed, the comment system worked without any issues. We suspect there may be a conflict between the paywall mechanism and CleanTalk’s anti-spam protection.

Could you please help us investigate this issue? If necessary, we can provide additional information, screenshots, error logs, or temporary access for troubleshooting.

    Website: http://www.kraut-zone.de
Issue started: Immediately after implementing the paywall
    CleanTalk plugin version: 6.80
    WordPress version: 6.9.4

    Thank you for your assistance.

    Best regards,
    Florian Müller

    Hello @krautzone,

We can see the message stating that the comment section is deactivated on your website. At the same time, we do not see any comment submissions being blocked by CleanTalk.

Could you please temporarily disable the CleanTalk plugin and try submitting a comment? Please let us know whether the error occurs with the plugin disabled.

Also, kindly check if there are any specific errors in your browser console or WordPress error logs when attempting to submit a comment.

    Thank you.
