Hello @reviewinglifeexperiences.
The scanner reports on those files in which the use of dangerous code constructs is detected. This is not always a 100% security risk. Manual analysis is needed.
If you have deleted the files, please perform a new scan. The files should disappear from the results.
Thanks for getting back to me, I have deleted the plugin and thought that might correct the error, I am not sure where the files are? Can you advise please? Terry
So, what problem are we solving?
I thought you were worried that our scanner was pointing to files that actually don’t exist anymore. To do this, I suggested a new scan.
Do you need help with something else?
My question is even after re running the scanner on Cleantalk it is still flagging the files as malware? I have deactivated the plugin then deleted the plugin. These files must be sitting somewhere for Cleantalk to see them. I don’t know where these files are stored? If I have to remove them manually? Thanks
The scanner shows the file path from the root directory. The files should be searched there.
If you don’t see these directories in the file system, perhaps the user you are logging in as does not have enough permissions. You need to add permissions in your hosting panel.
If the permissions are OK and there are no files, try the complete deactivation of our plugin:
- WordPress Admin Page —> Settings —> Security by CleanTalk —> General Settings —> enable the option “Complete Deactivation” —> Save Changes.
- WordPress Admin Page —> Plugins —> Installed plugins —> Security by CleanTalk —> Deactivate and then activate.
- Insert the Access key.
- Perform a scan.
