Clear Spam Log

Just updated to version 1.2.0. The new “Erase Log” button doesn’t erase the log. Tried clearing the cache, refreshing the browser, click the “Erase Log” button again. Doesn’t work.

All my logs are named “spam_log.txt” where previously I needed to view them within the browser. The default .log format didn’t allow in-browser viewing due to the browser’s limited MIME format.

Thanks @nysl! I tried clearing my spam_log.txt and noticed the log is still populated. After further deliberations, I found the spam_log.txt was, in fact, cleared however when I changed from the default “spcf_spam_block.log” to my preferred log name “spam_log.txt” a few months ago, the folder retained the old default log file and simply created a new log. When I deleted the TXT log, then the content of the “spcf_spam_block.log” appeared. Because “spam_log.txt” is chosen as the log file, your script will not allow the clearing of the default file. It would seem that if a person renames their log file, a script should run to delete the default “spcf_spam_block.log” or similar incidents will occur for other users.

Also, could you look at your spelling in version 1.2.1? On the settings page, “Put here form fields you want to protect from blank text submition.” Submission was spelled wrong. The grammatically correct reading would be “Enter below the form fields you want to protect from blank text submissions.”

I noticed too the “words or phrase” filter is not specific, blocking good emails. For example, there is a large amount of spam with references to “AI” in them, but filtering “ai” by itself blocks submissions with words like “wait”, “paid”, “chair”, and “paint” as examples of actual blocked words because they include the combined letters “ai”. The filter does not isolate the word “ai” when separated by a comma as it should, it blocks all references to any word with a filtered letter combination. That result is simply not a usable email filter. I had to remove spam letter combinations like “ai” because the filtering results were not concise.
