Clear Style Theme – Can't find HTML

    Hello all. Granted, I am new to all of this…WordPress, PHP, CSS, HTML, but I think I have done pretty well. I need some help though. I have two pages that show a Reply To comment box at the bottom of them. I can see the code that needs to be deleted in the HTML script when viewing the source code of the website page. I can’t, for the life of me, find the code in any of the pages within WordPress. I am using BlueHost as my domain service. I was able to get into the files and find the index.php in the public files, but it was not the same as the website source code. The code that I need to delete is as follows:

    The Theme I am using is Clear Style and my website is ExecutivelyYours.com. The pages I am having problems with are About Us and Contact Us. I copied and pasted all pages from the theme into an editor and did a search on clearstyle-b-container with no results. Any help you can offer is greatly appreciated. I am stumped and probably in way over my head, but hopefully with your help, I can find what I am looking for.

    Uncheck “Allow comments” in the Discussion pane on each Edit Page. If you do not see this pane, click Screen Options at the very top of the page and check “Discussion”.

    The proper way to do this would be to create a child theme.

    When you’ve read that document and got it created, add:

    #comments {
display: none;
}

    To your child theme’s style.css. Keep in mind this will likely disable comments throughout the site. Many themes also have a globally disable comments option.

    Alternately, you can use the Disable Comments plugin.

    In general you shouldn’t delete large blocks of code, comment them out if you’re going to do this at all.

    Andrew: Nooo don’t use CSS, use Esmi’s recommendation instead.

    A few months ago someone did that and didn’t realize that his post had >1,500 SPAM comments. The HTML alone was more than 10 MB just for that post!

    There are lots of things in a child theme that that works fine for, but comments aren’t one of them. 🙂
