click on text, get image?

So am I correct on thinking that I can use this plug in to make an image pop up in a lightbox when someone clicks on a portion of designated text?

for ex. – I love brown dogs.
and when one clicks on brown dogs an image i have selected of a brown dog will pop up?

If so I cant seem to get it to work for me, i have been selecting the text, inserting link, then using my images url as the link – is this correct?
