Clickable Sidebar List

    Hello everybody

    Im busy creating my website, but its still not hosted im using XAMPP to manage it offline. I have managed to do almost everything, but i seem not to get through over one thing: I want to create a Church database. The database will be titles “Churches”, i want this title to be on the sidebar and be clickable. After one clicks on it, i want it to display all the registered churches on the site, thereafter be able to click on each church name to get the specific information about that particular church. NOTE this must be on the side bar.

    I hope this is attainable…

    Im not so clued up with programming and stuff, i would really like proper step by step guidance. mostly i prefer a Plugins to do the work for me.

    i have already downloaded Participants database Plugin but i seem not to get around with it to get the desired goal.

    and ow! Im using Epic Base theme!

    Hi,

    This sounds like you want a custom post called “Churches”. This will allow you to add churches just as you would pages and posts with any content required and then add this list as a widget in the sidebar. A plugin such as https://en-gb.ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/custom-post-type-ui/ will allow you to add a custom post type without the need to write any code yourself. Please check out the documentation there to learn how to use it.

    Once that is setup you could use another plugin to enable you to add a widget showing a list of Churches. Have a look at https://en-gb.ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/custom-post-type-widgets/

    I believe with both of those installed you’ll avoid any code and have what you’re after.
