I have a client who would like the ability to click on a text link with the address of his business and have it open a page with directions to that business.

    The website is http://shamrockranchkennels.com/.

Here is what he is specifically asking:

On a desktop or laptop computer, go to https://www.bing.com/ and search for Shamrock Ranch. On the results page, click on the Directions button. You’ll notice that it takes you to a Bing Maps page that allows you to easily get directions.

Now, on an iPhone, go to http://www.bing.com/ and search for Shamrock Ranch. On the results page, tap on the Directions button. You’ll notice that it doesn’t go to a Bing Maps page; it actually opens up the Maps app included with iOS.

That’s how the physical address link should work on the Web site. The physical address should display as a link that says, “100 Shamrock Ranch Road, Pacifica, CA 94044.” When clicked on a desktop or laptop computer, it should take you to a Google Maps page. When tapped on an iPhone (or another smartphone), it should open the address via the built-in Maps app on your phone.

Does the WP Google Maps plugin offer this possibility? If not, is there a plugin out there that does what he wants?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi @dozarko,

Thank you for getting in touch, we really appreciate your time. My apologies for the delay in response.

Unfortunately our basic version of the plugin does not support directions, however our Pro add-on does support a Get Directions link being shown in the info-window.

When this link is clicked the directions will either load internally (on a computer) or using the native navigation app on a smart phone.

    I hope this helps?
