When I clone from a base site in our multisite network, the cloned site is quite broken (incorrect theme is active, admin and front end CSS not loading, etc). I am hosting on WP Engine with a custom theme and clearing cache does not solve the issue. Any ideas?

    hey @gotigersjf

We’ve seen this happen a few times when there is excessive caching either on the website end or the server site — things like object caching or memcache is activated. Can you check to see and deactivate and try again to see if that resolves your issue?

In case anyone ends up here with similar issues, WP Engine enabled domain wildcarding and that solved the issue. Once that was done, NS Cloner worked as expected after clearing the WP Engine cache after each clone.

Sweet, thanks for letting us know! Yes, wildcard DNS needs to be activated for subdomains.
