• I am wondering if it is possible
    from an existing multisite install,
where many different-individual test sites reside,
and where a single site were to show promise,
and consequently would need to be duplicated as it’s own single install/standard WP site,
Would it be hard to do to clone that particular MS site into a single standard WP site?

  • “Hard” is relative, depending pretty much on your skill level. I’m also not a big fan of making decisions based on hard vs easy, but that’s just me!

But it is surely possible to migrate a Multisite subsite to a stand-alone site. You may do so manually, or use a back/migration plugin that supports this specific scenario.

    Good luck!

It’s probably way overkill but, another thing you might do is to clone the whole multisite to a new server then put a bit of effort into removing the extra sites. I’ve done that several times just to do a ‘quick and dirty’ migration knowing that having the second multisite (or extra sites or even extra multisites) might be a good thing.

The additional sites won’t cost you all that much in overhead except for the bit of storage and you’ll be able to mitigate most of that as you have time. I’ve done that in the past and will probably do it again since it seems easy enough for me.
