I’ve tried setting this plugin up several times but I always get stuck with a “Cloud not update options.” when trying to retrieve the list of facebook pages to select from. This is after inserting the App ID, App Secret, and Access Token.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Is that issue related to the one you wrote the review about?

I am not sure this issue comes from, I would need to have a closer look. If you are still interested in that, let me know.

Hi Jordy, yes it is and as I stated over there, I am happy to retract my review provided you can assist me in some way. Regardless of the outcome, because I understand it’s not always the developers fault. Actually, it’s more often than not, not the developers fault. But I followed the instructions in the plugin to the letter and it refused to work. I bet, in the end, it’s not working because of something pertaining to my account. 🤷

What do you need from me in order to get a better picture as to what is going wrong?

On a side note, I was serious about purchasing the pro version, but failed to see the point if I couldn’t at least see what the free version is like. I was shocked to find that there are not a lot of good plugins out there that can do what this one is supposably capable of doing.

Often, a tricky mix of everybody’s fault unfortunately, which makes it difficult to figure out! I hope it’s not Facebook’s fault though (they wouldn’t help as you know).

It might not worth the efforts to develop this kind of plugin; it’s much easier to create a platform online. The developer can control at 100% (unlike a WordPress plugin), and charge a lot (they all do anyway). My goal was to break this with a plugin that does a lot even in its free version, and… without any limitations 😉 It’s awesome, in theory. The downside is that the user needs to dig into the SNS, and that’s not easy.

That said, the error you get is strange; I am not sure where it’s coming from. Would you mind contacting me directly? Here: https://meowapps.com/contact

    SOLVED!

The actual error is “Could not update options” to help others searching.

Basically, it needed more permissions in https://developers.facebook.com/tools/explorer/

I don’t know which, because I just added them all, and then it worked.

Jordy, brilliant plugin!! I think just needs the documentation updating with annotated screenshots, and it will help a LOT of people.

    Keep up the amazing development!
