Hi @vinayras,
Thanks for reaching out. And certainly, we’d be happy to review any possible Cloudflare Cookie Consent app conflict with the Site Kit dashboard. I’ll review this and report back to you here, hopefully at some stage today, or if not tomorrow.
While I’m doing so feel free to share the following, so we can setup a similar environment if needed, or check for any possible multi party conflicts.
- Your Site Health information. You can use this form to share privately if preferred.
- Do you see any browser console errors on any of your blank Site Kit dashboard screen? If so please share the messages that appear.
- Can you confirm the support thread you were referring to earlier? I located one, in relation to a Cloudflare setup. I didn’t see any reference to a Cookie Consent app within this topic.
Note also that we have undergone thorough Cloudflare testing, including SSL configurations, security and other configurations. Any additional information you can provide, such as the above, would be super useful. In particular to assist other users, as you’ve mentioned, who are also using Cloudflare with the “Cookie consent” app.
Update: I see you shared the support thread. Many thanks!
@vinayras Just to keep you updated on this we’re awaiting a couple of new sites to perform testing on, after pointing them to Cloudflare servers. We’ll let you know as soon as we have an update here. Thanks again for sharing this.
Many thanks for your patience on this. I’ve tested the mentioned “Cookie Consent” app within Cloudflare and I was able to recreate the same experience, with a blank Site Kit dashboard and also a non responsive Site Kit admin toolbar.
From testing this in relation to the Site Kit dashboard it looks like by default, if enabled, the app installs a consent banner that blocks scripts from running on wp-admin dashboard pages also, which is expected, given it’s not an app specifically for WordPress.
While this isn’t a Site Kit specific issue, what you can do as a WordPress is to limit what pages this app works on, using the “Edit this app on..” feature, to ensure it only works for non wp-admin pages.
In this screenshot I’ve set the app to not appear on any wp-admin pages other than the main wp-admin page, using the * wildcard.
You can reach out to the app developers of this Cloudflare app for further assistance. Unfortunately as this app can overwrite a standard WordPress sites behavior, by blocking scripts, it’s not something we can address on the plugin side.
Note that there may be other Cookie related apps you can use within Cloudflare as an alternative if you’re having trouble with the configuration. An alternative is to also use a Cookie plugin at WordPress level, which doesn’t impact any wp-admin URLs, including the Site Kit dashboards.
Let me know if you have any questions with the above. I’ll close this support topic as it’s not something we can address on the plugin side, with the functionality of the app expected to impact Site Kit and other dashboard features.
Yes, we can change the settings in the “Cookie Consent” app to skip wp-admin pages.
I have disabled the Cloudflare app and installed a WordPress plugin for this.
Thank you.
Glad to hear it!
If you have any further Site Kit queries be sure to reach out.
