    Hello,

This morning I made the requested update and it broke the Web site http://bbsnews.net because of an error on line 36 in cloudflare.php

    ../wp-content/plugins/cloudflare/cloudflare.php on line 36

    Which is:

    use CloudFlare\IpRewrite;

Any news? I had to rename the cloudflare.php file on the server to “break” it so the site would come back up when WP disabled the “missing” plugin, then I disabled the caching and purged the cache files and the site seems to come back up normally but I would like to get CloudFlare back running.

    Thanks,

    Michael Hess

  • Hi Michael,

The latest version of the CloudFlare WordPress plugin requires a version of PHP of 5.3 or higher. Note that PHP 5.2 is no longer a supported release of PHP and reached end of life around 5 years ago:

    http://php.net/eol.php

You will need to upgrade to at least PHP 5.3 to have the plugin operate, but we highly recommend upgrading to a version of PHP that is still supported as detailed on
    http://php.net/supported-versions.php

I’m running version 5.4.24 of PHP, and I’m getting the same error.

    Hi Simon,

Thank you for the swift response. I did not know that I was running a PHP at EOL but I upgraded to PHP 5.4, re-renamed the temp file, re-activated the plugin, then turned caching back on at the CloudFlare dashboard and everything seems to be running fine with WP core and CloudFlare.

Now I’m just going to make sure no other plugin is broken 🙂

    Thanks!

    Hi Michael,

Glad this is working for you.

Roberb – can you drop a line to support and confirm the error you see in your logs as well as the details of your installation (PHP version, plugin version, WP version etc)

    Simon

Bluehost lied. It said I was running v5.4.24 in CPanel, but when I ran “php –version”, it said v5.2.17. It’s fixed now.

The CloudFlare plugin should be updated to add a php check and disable the plugin and prompt a message if php is outdated.
