In the free version of uDraw, PDF’s are generated as a flat image. In the paid version, we generate a layered version of the PDF with CMYK colors. However, we can’t guarantee the black to be 100% black as the customers designing the product can always tweak it slightly.

However, we do have another product that is used within our uDraw plugin that can support a more structured template environment and can guarantee 100% Black.

You can send your contact info here; http://www.udraw.net/contact/ and someone will get back to you with more info you are interested 🙂

Hi. sorry one more question, do you mean the free version will only output all colours as RGB? So for it to output in proper CMYK we need to install the paid version.

I’ve noticed even though the colour slider on the app may be “0% Cyan, 100% Magenta, 100% Yellow, 0% Black (a standard red CMYK breakdown) in the CMYK window, the outputted PDF generates a different CMYK value all together as it is really RGB converting to CMYK.

    Thanks again for your help.

    Hi Andrew 🙂
You are correct. In the free version, we convert the selected CMYK to RGB as the PDF generated is a flat file image.
In the paid version, we create a layered PDF while respecting the CMYK colors selected in the design.

And we have another product that hooks into uDraw that allows you to control the exact CMYK ( or even spot colors ) in your design.

    Hope this helps!
