Code Editor Block has zero formatting?

    I’ve been testing out the code editor field, but as far as I can tell it’s identical to a simple text field. Is this the correct behavior or am I missing something?

    I was expecting to perhaps see things like syntax highlighting, linting, or even just line numbers.

    Hey.

    A long time ago Gutenberg team removed the CodeEditor component and we changed it to a simple text editor. As it is not so popular control, it was not changed. I have added a task to improve this control, most probably in future updates, it will be improved.
