Using WordPress Themes
These will help you get started, but you will need to turn all of your HTML into XHMTL. Is your site already in a database? Are you familiar with PHP? Check out: Getting Started With WordPress and First Steps with WordPress.

I already have my site in a database and I am familiar with PHP. However, does my site have to be XHTML. I am not familiar with it and would rather stay with HTML 4.01
medli, if you’ll look at the files that WordPress uses to constitute whole pages, you’ll see that the amount of difference between HTML 4.01 and XHTML loose is not that significant. Those are in the wp-content/themes folder.
If you’re familiar with HTML at all, you’ll see the differences and can likely just update your HTML 4.01 code. The W3.org Validator would also be a big help.
