    Hi there Tobias,

Wow it looks like you’re really busy there. Well I have about had it with my table, don’t worry, it’s not your fault. I have looked everywhere for a solution and I can not find one. I tried to search first on the this forum, and there was like 600 pages for the term “Collapse”, I ran out of steam after the first page, please forgive me.

So anyways, I have the latest version of WordPress, running a Moesia Theme, which your plugin says is compatible with, and is one of the reasons that I installed it in the first place, also it’s the best plugin that I can find that can basically do what I need it to do, except for one thing.

Everything works on it, the flip and scroll. I have tried :
    [table id=1 responsive=scroll /]
    [table id=1 responsive=flip responsive_breakpoint=device /]
    [table id=1 responsive=flip responsive_breakpoint=all /]

On the flip for “all” devices, the table doesn’t reach it’s full width across the container, and so basically the only thing that does work is the scroll and the flip “device”.

The collapse is the only thing that does not work, and I have pulled all my hair out trying to figure it out, while you could probably solve it with a simple snippet or something.

Ok so here is the link that the table is on : http://kingsmangold.com/table/

The thing is that is looks wonderful and great on a laptop or desktop, I assume they are basically both the same, however when it comes time to view it on an i6s Plus phone, then it is a complete mess, well not that much, but all the lettering is vertical instead of horizontal, the way it should be, and there is no plus icon to press to drop it down in order to see more. It’s the weirdest and most frustrating thing in the world for me right now.

I have deactivated all the plugins I thought would be causing it to look like that on mobile view, and it still does it. If you look at it on a phone you will see what I mean, at least on the iphone it does, but it’s just an iphone so it should display properly.

I have placed the shorthand code within the text section in my editor. I don’t really understand how I could take out multiple instances of jquery in my header.php code, I stay away from messing around too much with my own code since last time I did that, through some advice I saw online, it totally made my entire site disappear, I totally freaked man, and I had to go into my hosting and replace the file on my server. I think maybe that might be it, since it’s the only thing I refuse to touch, or something having to do with my theme, but I have no idea what.

I am not using colspan or rowspan, I just don’t know what the deal is. Here is the debugging information as well :

    · Website: http://kingsmangold.com
    · TablePress: 1.8
    · TablePress (DB): 34
    · TablePress table scheme: 3
    · Plugin installed: 2017/06/26 23:48:41
    · WordPress: 4.8
    · Multisite: no
    · PHP: 5.6.30
    · mysqli Extension: true
    · mySQL (Server): 10.1.22-MariaDB-cll-lve
    · mySQL (Client): 10.1.22-MariaDB
    · ZIP support: yes
    · UTF-8 conversion: yes
    · WP Memory Limit: 40M
    · Server Memory Limit: 128M
    · Magic Quotes: off
    · WP_DEBUG: false
    · WP_POST_REVISIONS: true

I completely uninstalled the plugin because I didn’t want my table numbers increasing in the shorthand code, so it’s at table id 1.

If you want I could send you more donation funding and give you the admin permissions to look around and see what you can come up with, I really need this to work, seems like everything I do is somehow tainted, I would at least like for this to work for me.

    Thank you in advance, Marc

I forgot to mention too that I switched my theme temporarily to Twenty Sixteen and it worked better, but still wasn’t perfect, I believe it might have to do with the theme coding, but hopefully not, I hope it’s just some extra old JQueries on there, and also I did see those little plus icons flash for just a moment, but never saw it again. Hope that helps somehow, maybe it sounds familiar to you. I would greatly appreciate any help! Thank you in advance.

    Hi,

thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.

Please try adding this to the “Custom CSS” textarea on the “Plugin Options” screen of TablePress:

    .tablepress {
      word-break: normal;
    }

This will override a CSS setting in your theme that causes this “vertical text” that you mention. Hopefully, this makes the flip mode work 🙂

    Tobias

    Hi Tobias,

Thanks for the prompt reply, it is really appreciated. Yes the vertical text is now corrected, thank you for that, almost there. Now for the plus buttons to drop down the information contained in the table.

Yes, the buttons with the plus sign are not present. When the phone is flipped it shows the table in it’s entirety, which is good.

I found this website right here
It has a similar look to what I am trying to achieve when viewing on mobile. I just know it can’t be that hard.

What else can I do? Thanks in advance!

Like I said, everything looks perfect on the laptop or desktop, but on mobile view the header text is corrected but it is bunched up together, like they are running into each other, but at least it’s horizontal now and not vertical, and there is no drop down button, yet that appears just fine in the laptop view.

I found a site that has the appearance I am looking for goldira.company/ It appears good on mobile, this is what I am looking for appearance wise. Thank you in advance.

    Hi,

it seems that you are now using the collapse mode and it’s working fine for me when I check your table at http://kingsmangold.com/table/
Depending on the screen size, I see the green “+” symbol and can expand the remaining information.

    Tobias

Hi, I just now got your reply, after already sending off half a dozen of them, not sure what’s going on with this system. Anyways, I’m not sure why I can’t see the green “+” symbol, and I can not expand the remaining information. Even on your demo site I can see it just fine, I am using an iPhone 6s Plus, and can see yours just fine, and I believe I found another site that is using your plugin and I can see it just fine too.

I have restarted my phone, and cleared my entire history and I still can’t see the little green plus sign. Thank you.

    Hi,

I’m not sure, but I think that the system is blocking posts if you send too many, because it thinks you are spamming or something.

Have you tried a different browser on the phone, like Chrome?

    Regards,
    Tobias

Ya, I only sent like one post right when I woke up this morning, and it never went through that I could see, so of course I sent another, then another, then finally it started working again. Weird.

Anyways, no I haven’t tried Chrome on the phone, I don’t like having to install extra apps, although it most likely will work, I am using Safari, the default of iphone, and so are most other users as well, so I think this should look ok for them as well.

I will try it, and it probably will look fine, but it bothers me that I can’t see it on Safari, while I can see your demo and others just fine, kinda don’t get it.

If I may ask what phone are you using? I know it’s not perfect, but I really like your plug from what I’ve seen so far, but it doesn’t show up on Safari on iPhone, and I don’t get why because I can see yours. Weird eh?

Hey Steve, yes I’ve noticed changes to the system. Are the moderator just for this forum, or the entire ww.wp.xz.cn site?

I thought maybe I shouldn’t have placed that URL in an earlier post thinking that it might get flagged as spam or something, but it was only for the cause of showing what a website looks like. Is that what happened?

Anyways, it started last night, I wrote only one post, then I forgot something so I immediately made one more and that was it. Also I thought I had already been registered from previously, but the system couldn’t find my email, so I made another one and the confirmation email never came, so I did it a few more times, and they all got backed up, therefore making me look suspicious I bet, but I was simply just signing up and having problems just doing that, same thing with changing the passwords several times, because when the confirmation email finally came the old password had already been made obsolete, never see so many problems before. Maybe there isn’t enough server speed? I don’t know.

    Hi,

I’m actually not testing directly on a phone (don’t have one here right now), but I only tested in the browser simulator of the Chrome Developer Tools on my computer.

If the collapse mode does not work reliably, you might have to switch to scroll or flip again. These should work better now, due to that extra CSS code from above.

    (@kingmatarix)

Oh, I did not know that. Well I’m not sure what to do anymore, I just deleted all the rows and columns in another duplicate table to start over and now I get this message.

Saving failed: AJAX call failed: error – Not Found. Try again while holding down the “Shift” key.

I got that before and then I solved it some how and it saved normally, then it came back now that I am creating another table. Looks like I might have to abandon this. I can’t place pictures or anything, everything I do on this table crumbles and I am not sure why.

    Plugin Author Tobias Bäthge

    (@tobiasbg)

    Hi,

this “AJAX call failed: error – Not Found” is triggered by your server, I’m afraid. There’s some software extension that erroneously blocks the request, because it doesn’t like something in the structure of the transmitted data (some software packages like mod_security for the Apache webserver do this for security reasons). Unfortunately, this is nothing that I can influence, you will have to contact your webhost about this. They might know more about the cause for this error from their error log files.

Now, just deleting all the data in the table will not really help here. It will be the same after again adding that data.

I’m not sure what you mean with placing images here. Adding those is possible via the “Insert Image” button on the “Edit” screen.

    Regards,
    Tobias

    Thread Starter kingmatrix

    (@kingmatarix)

Well, I can insert images, but I’m pretty much done I think, after the saving error, which I thought went away, but didn’t. Yes I know I could hold shift down in order to save it, but it just doesn’t feel the same.

I’m not sure really what else I can do, I thought it would be responsive on all devices and all browsers. I think I might have to give up on it all together. I’ve tried other table plugins, but I haven’t had any success at all with any of them, and I really have to get going on other stuff.

I really like your plugin, I just wish it was more efficient across all devices and platforms, or maybe it is and it’s just my theme, which I think is a pretty good one as far as I know. So not sure what else I can do, except just make a CSS .div list or something with some float:left and right.

Really? I can’t even make a last post huh? Pretty tiresome, let me tell you.
