column width CSS not working

When saving the custom CSS I get the message “Options saved successfully, but “Custom CSS” was not saved to file.”

I know you stated:

“The error “Options saved successfully, but “Custom CSS” was not saved to file” is not that critical. In fact, it is common on local installs, as the file permissions are sometimes very strict there. This is okay, as the CSS will then be loaded directly, you will however not benefit from some performance gains that this can bring.”

So why isn’t the column width CSS working? No matter what I set them to the width doesn’t change.

Hi,

thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.

Changing the column width is sometimes tricky, as tables have a special behavior there. Basically, the content in the cell determines the required minimum width.
Can you please post a link to the page with the table where this problem happens, so that I can take a direct look? Thanks!

I made some changes to my Excel table and imported/created a new TP at http://gondolatrattoria.ca/new/catering-menu-2/ but its formatting is completely different that the first imported version I made at http://gondolatrattoria.ca/new/catering-menu/.

I found some of the problem. In text mode I noticed
codep around the [table id=4 /] tag.

It’s still finicky trying to set column widths.

Hi,

yes, the <pre> likely caused that. Good to hear that you found that already!

Making the first columns bigger won’t really work as the other columns don’t have enough space then 🙁
