Why? Comments are written by users in any language they want. Qtx does not control it and does not track it. Users would always want to see all comments in any language. If they are interested, they may translate them with external tools.

I think there are a few topics related to comments in https://qtranslatexteam.wordpress.com/desirable/, if you wish to pick one and implement it – our code is at GitHub, it is all currently a low priority for us.

qTranslate Separate Comments looks like an abandomed plugin, but anyway if it helped you, it is good.

You may consider taking over that plugin if its author does not respond. Publish it as a new plugin like “Comments by Language for qTranslate-X” and list the former author as a co-author. They will eventually contact you and will be glad that you continued their work. At that point you two will probably deprecate one of the plugins.

Consider using the trick described in “Plugins Naming Convention” in order to make a shorter slug like “qtranslate-x-comments” and to make two our plugins be next to each other on file system.

We will advertise your plugin as one of the implemented desirable features. When we enforce licensing for qtx, your plugin may become a paid add-on.

    Thank you,
Good luck to you in your further development!
