You can set it so an administrator does NOT have to approve comments.
You can also set it so the admin approves comments but that subsequent comments from a previous approved commentor will not be held for moderation.

I think the poster is aware of this, but is asking for a new feature which takes into account whether a user is registered or not, and sets commenting permissions based upon that. It would be a useful feature in my opinion – registered members shouldn’t require moderation, whereas those who are not registered may well do.
Personally, I’m happy to moderate the first comment and keep a lookout for abuse!
Yes i was aware of the features MichaelH spoke about but my sentiments were more those of RabMaster. It would be useful not to have to moderate registered members.

Is it possible have a setting in a future version which allows you to allow registered users to post comments despite having a general rules that administrators must approve all comments. This would be a very useful feature.
