Comment Count gets lost after time range

    I’m working locally on a site and have Popular Posts showing 6 posts from the last 30 days. I’m also displaying the comment number by using this in the widget:

    {comments}

    Today I looked at the widget and all the comment numbers were 0 instead of the actual comment number. I then changed the widget to “all-time” and then the comment number was correct again. Can we make it to where the comment number is always accurate regardless of time frame?
