I built a site using the default Twenty Twenty-Three theme. On blog posts, I’m using the comments template block, which includes the comment form.

However, the comment form doesn’t show on the blog posts. There are no comments, so I wouldn’t expect them to show.

I have comments enabled on the posts and in Discussion settings. I deactivated all plugins, but the form still doesn’t show. I also purged the cache. I also reverted the Single post template back to the original but they still don’t show.

I have this site duplicated locally and the comments form works fine.

Any ideas on why this is happening on the live site or what I should be looking at to fix it?

I figured out the fix for my issue, in case anyone searches for this in the future.

I disabled (unchecked) “Allow people to submit comments on new posts” under Settings→Discussion, then saved changes. Then I re-enabled it (checked the box) and saved changes.

I suppose it’s similar to saving permalinks without changing anything, it just refreshes the setting.
