No, it’s not. I’ve used the same theme for years & haven’t changed it. I think it’s WP related & not theme related. But I will keep the suggestion in mind.

I did check the error console in my browser & see these errors. But I don’t know if they’re related to the Reply issue:

If WordPress updates, and a component of your theme stops working – that is probably a theme issue (or potentially a plugin issue). I would strongly recommend contacting your theme support, or if you want to be sure – deactivate all your plugins to see if that has any impact, and try switching to the default theme.
The thing about WordPress themes, is that they can often have a lifespan of a few years, unless they were particularly well built or updated regularly by the theme author.
I don’t think those errors are related from what I can see.
It’s possible you’re right after all. I noticed this thread on my theme forum. There is some conflict between the javascript in the new WP version & Thesis. http://diythemes.com/forums/showthread.php?105669-Reply-to-comment-link-broken-after-WP-4.4-update&p=498438#post498438
It’s a problem very similar (though not exactly the same) to mine.
This hack is a bit beyond my technical abilities. I’ll have to see if there may be other ways to fix the problem. Hopefully, DIY will fix the bug quickly.
Ahah, I guess that is good news in a way, as Thesis I think is a theme that updates regularly (I would guess).
Hopefully they will bring out a fix…

Has anyone heard of the bug I now have in my install. When you go to a post with a comment thread & click Reply on one of the existing comments it doesn’t open the comment edit box. Instead it navigates to the top of the page and nothing opens at all.
Is this possibly connected to the recent WP upgrade?
My host WP Engine can’t figure the problem out either. But they’ve confirmed the bug themselves on my site.
