only new posts have comments, not previously published ones.
For previously published Posts, the following article may be useful:

Hi, thanks for the tips.
I tried the first one — bulk editing — but unfortunately it didn’t do anything.
The comment box is the Jetpack enabled one, does anyone know of a similar Jetpack setting that could be preventing the comment box from appearing on the old posts?

I recommend asking at https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/plugin/jetpack/ so the plugin’s developers and support community can help you with this.

Each post’s settings have comments enabled, the theme’s comments are enabled, Jetpack comments are enable, the “Let visitors use a WordPress.com, Twitter, Facebook, or Google account to comment” is on and saved, however only new posts have comments, not previously published ones.
What is wrong with Jetpack?
If I disable Jetpack comments and just use the theme’s comment box, will this solve my issue? I know I could lose existing comments to do that but that is not a big deal.
