• Hi, I cant seem to get my comments to show.

They have popped up in dashboard and I’ve approved them, and if I put in the “recent comments” widget they are listed. But for some reason when I go to the page that they are on they just arent there.

I’ve tried disabling all my addons, nothing.
I’ve looked through the “discussion settings”, nothing.
    I’ve re-uploaded fresh “wp-admin” and “wp-includes” folders, nothing.

    In the “single.php” I’ve got the “<?php comments_template( ”, true ); ?>” in place, still nothing.

Anyone who knows what it might be? I’ve been searching for hours and none of the fixes work :/

My site is http://www.tjenesteportal1.no/portalen/rydding-og-organisering (this page has a comment)

Really hope you can help before I loose all my hair! 🙂

    – Have you tried switching to the WP default theme (Twenty Twelve) for a moment? Does the problem occur when you do that?

Hello Tara! Thanks for the response. I’m using the default theme 🙂

I’ve managed to get the comments to show now actually, was trying to customize the wording of the different fields and boxes and something was where it shouldnt be 🙂

I got one problem still though, I’ve made the commentform drop down when you click “write a comment”. But the comment section is in the line right beneat it and I would like to have one or two lines of space between them. Do you know how I could do that?

    Example how it looks:

    Write comment
    Comments

Example how I want it to look:

    Write comment

    Comments

Are you using a child theme?

No, how do I do that?

Managed to fix it, just inserted white text 😀

    New problem 😛

    The comments look like this:
    _______________________________
    ___________author
    ___________date of post

    text in comment
    _______________________________

(without the ____ infront of author/date of course)

How can I make the author/date be on the left hand side, and remove some of the gap between the text and the author/date?

Do not edit the Twenty Twelve theme. It is the current default WordPress theme and having access to an original, unedited, copy of the theme is vital in many situations. First create a child theme for your changes. Or install a custom CSS plugin.
