Please disable all plugins and switch your theme to twentyfifteen. Do the comments appear?
If so, re-enable things one at a time until you see what’s breaking your site.
. . i was hoping there might be an easier solution. what comments plug-in would you recommend?
what did you find when you disabled all plugins and changed the theme?

I can’t get comments to display on blog posts.
I’ve tried settings>discussion and checked everything that should be checked.
I’ve also gone into the post and enabled comments, but still nothing.
Can anyone help?
