Comments not working it seems
-
If you’re logged in, then you’re not commenting using Facebook, you’re commenting using your login credentials.
SFC-Comments only works if you’re not logged in. Then you can connect using FB in the comments form, and then it will show your FB avatar. Actual users on the blog with actual logins are presumed to have gravatars like normal people.
I don’t think you understand 😡 Sorry if I am not communicating this.
I was not logged into the blog. I was logged into FACEBOOK. I was also logged into the BLOG using the “Login using facebook” button.
Here is an example:
http://newurbangirl.me/new-post-test.htmlIf you look there, BOTH comments are posted by MayBornStar
The first uses Gravatar. That is accomplished when logging into the blog clicking Connect To Facebook button on the blogs login screen. After connecting to facebook in that way, all the comments are coming from the wordpress account.
However, if logged in from the comment form, it pulls the facebook account. Yet in the DB, the two accounts are the same.
Do you see what I mean?
In both instanced I logged into the site using your plugin. I didn’t login using the wordpress registration login.
The first comment logged in here:
http://newurbangirl.me/wp-login.php?loggedout=trueThe second I logged in from the post itself
Right, I understand, but you’re basically saying the same thing I said. 🙂
Logging into the blog itself, whether you use FB to do it or not, will actually log you into the blog.
Logging into FB using the comments form does *not* actually log you into the blog. It just logs you into Facebook and causes the comments system to a) assume you’re an anonymous user making a comment and b) go to FB to get your name/email/website information.
The difference here is that if you’re logged into the blog, via whatever means, then you’re not an anonymous user anymore. And thus your Facebook identity information won’t be attached to your comment, and so it won’t use your FB avatar.
Logged in users (to the blog itself) as presumed to already have an identity on the site, and it will use a gravatar for them. People who are not logging in, but merely leaving comments using the FB identity to do so, get their FB identity attached to the comment so that it can display their FB name and such along with their FB Avatar.
Okay, I understand. I suppose I was expecting it to behave like:
http://developers.facebook.com/docs/reference/plugins/comments/
whereas once logged into the site or not, the comments remain connected to Facebook. So are the comments of non-logged in users stored as the user if the email addresses match? Thanks for explaining this.

Hi. I installed everything accurately to my knowledge.
When I login to my site using facebook connect and go to comment a post, I still see the wordpress comment box and I also see the GRAVATAR not the facebook avatar. There is also no option to post to profile.
Feel free to sign up and look around on http://www.newurbangirl.me/
You can see if you try it.
