Comments showing wrong name

    All the comments on my blog are showing the wrong commenter name. The avatars are correct. If the commenter links to their blog, their name is “says.” If they do not have a blog to link to, the name is their name after “http”.

    I have cleared my site cache. I have cleared my browser cache. I have viewed the site on a new browser. I have disabled all plugins. The problem remains.

    I am using WordPress version 5.1.1 and have only reactivated plugins that are tested with the most recent WordPress version. I use the native WordPress comments. And I also have Jetpack with Akismet. Disabling Jetpack and Akismet changes nothing.

    Can anyone help?

    It is likely the theme. You can use the Customizer to preview the site with a different theme and see if that changes it.
    If so, ask at the theme’s support forum for the fix.

    Thank you. I thought the theme was an unlikely culprit because I use the Genesis framework. But it appears you are right.
