Comments – Smiley Picker
-
I use the standard wp smileypicker.
The smileys are created differently, and therefor some are big and others are small.
The theme adds a lot of code near the top of the page to correct this.
Some optimizers (caching and compressing plugins) assume that you do not use the smileypicker, so they remove that code to make the pageload smaller.
If you unticked Table IV-F9 you really should not see the smileypicker anymore, so i think you have a caching plugin active and the cache has not yet been cleared after you unticked IV-F9.
As i see in the pagesource you use yoast optimizer:
<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v12.3 - https://yoast.com/wordpress/plugins/seo/ -->
This is one of the worst, i.e. most damaging, optimizers known to mankind.I suggest you use Autoptimize instead.
Thanks for the reply Jacob
I’ve uninstalled Yoast.
I still have the same problem. I put the site into troubleshooting mode and deactivated all plugins except for WPPA and it still occurs. I also deleted all browser cache data. I have a test site at http://www.divejive.co.uk where I don’t have any caching program and the smileys are here as well. Any other suggestions?Best regards
KevinIt looks like i have to login? i do not see the commentform on yuor test site
BTW:
ALso here you use a caching plugin:
<!-- Cached page generated by WP-Super-Cache on 2019-10-27 11:33:41 -->
Switch it OFF (deactivate) until your website runs as expected.Hi Jacob
I tried using a different cache program on the test site but there wasn’t one when I wrote my original request for help. I turned off comments to see what happened and have been messing with the test site to see if I can find any more clues for you. I’ll send you admin login details for https://www.kevinagar.uk which is the site I’m more concerned with.
Thanks for all your help, it really is appreciated

I found it. its a very recent bug, caused by changes i made for the ‘comment needs rating’ feature.
Will be fixed in the next version. Sorry for the inconvenience.
BTW: Your smileya have all the same size now…Thank you very much Jacob, efficient as usual, and such a small inconvenience for such a great program.
KevinThank you Jacob

Hi Jacob
I appear to have the row of smileys above the comment box and they are huge, or most of them are. I have IV-F9 Unticked but they still appear. Am I missing something or is this a new bug? I’ve looked at the page on several systems and it’s always there and never used to be.
Regards
Kevin
