I’m running a very old version of WP (2.3.3) and have a custom-made theme.

I am wanting to upgrade to 2.7 but have no idea if my current theme is at-all compatible with it.

Does anybody know how well it would work? I’m sure there are some things I have to change (I found this article: http://codex.ww.wp.xz.cn/Migrating_Plugins_and_Themes_to_2.7) but just don’t know how difficult or time-consuming this will be.
    Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance.

Hi – There is no way to answer that as its dependent on the WP functions your theme uses. Many themes convert to 2.7.1 just fine, and some require some tweaking, often minor tweaking.

Install the wordpress-automatic-upgrade plugin as it allows you to backup both your files and database before the upgrade, in addition to doing the upgrade for you in about six steps.
    http://ww.wp.xz.cn/extend/plugins/wordpress-automatic-upgrade/

Make sure you download the backup files to your computer during the process. Then in the worst case you can restore your files and database and you are back where you are now.

After you get upgraded to 2.7.1 disable the wordpress-automatic-upgrade plugin as it has become incompatible with the built-in WP upgrade code in 2.7.1
