Since our upgrade to v4.7, local-only accounts cannot login when wpDirAuth is enabled.

Credentials have not change, and have been verified as working by disabling the plugin.

However, there were other security updates installed around the same time. Has anybody else seen this particular behaviour on 4.7?

I have several sites running WordPress 4.7 and v1.7.16 of wpDirAuth and am not seeing any issues with local-only accounts or AD-authenticated accounts. Can you give me some additional information on your particular set-up, the accounts that are having issues (all accounts, or only certain local-only accounts? All roles or only certain roles?), other active plugins, themes, etc.?

Also, would you be willing to install an altered version of wpDirAuth and send me the results from the log file? If so, instructions here: https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/topic/new-version-stops-password-resets/page/2/#post-8489588

I believe this has been figured out. Looks like systems using version of PHP older than 5.3.9 were unable to authenticate local-only accounts. v1.7.17 of wpDirAuth has been released to correct this issue. Please update and let me know if things are working as they should again.

Brilliant! That worked great. Thank you so much for taking the time to follow up directly with me on this. My apologies for not being part of the solution – I was off for Christmas break.

    Thanks again!
