    I’ve added the extra line to the php file as suggested by Marco and the widget is now working. Presume from what you say that the fix will show up in WP in the next Download plugin upgrade?

    @nstratman: correct!

    There is also a conflict with the plugin WP Editor Widget, which ironically is the one I tried as a replacement for tinymce above. It doesn’t generate an error message as it did with tinymce, but the Editor widget plugin text edit region is inactive, not clickable. Once I de-activated Download Manager the Editor widget plugin worked. I don’t know if the same fix as above would apply to this conflict, that’s outside my area of expertise!

    If you redownload the file, I hope it fix it as I added some cache bursting to the JS

    Do you mean download from github, or delete plugin from my wp dashboard and re-add? If the former presume I need to use e.g. FileZilla to replace plugin files as there isn’t a version upgrade via WordPress?

    Correct. Just download https://github.com/lesterchan/wp-downloadmanager/archive/master.zip, extract it and replace all the files inside your FTP /wp-content/plugins/wp-downloadmanager
