Sorry for asking this here. Hope moderators wont mind it too, it is just general answer needed, not some paid work.
Could not find how to register account on plugin website, so i will ask it here.

It is about licence. All is more or less clear. Just want to ask how it is dealt with new major versions of WordPress. WordPress has to be updated/upgraded. What if some new version will have such huge core changes and your plugin stops to work ? I mean after one year passed and we cannot update plugin anymore.

How do you deal in such situations ? Do we get some adapted plugin code even if one year passed, just to guarantee compatibility with all new WP versions ?

    Morning!

We’re planning on updating and maintaining this plugin for years to come, so we update it whenever a new version of WordPress is released! Even when the pages we focus on are updated, we’ll try to find a way to keep implementing our features.

    Cheers!

I meant more would we need to buy licence for another year to get WP compatibility updates ?

249 $ per year is not little, year pass fast, and WordPress core has to be upgraded on all websites.

It is not like we ask for some new features, options, design in plugin, just to be compatible with new WP versions. We cannot let any plugin stay in way of upgrading core and make security holes.

If this would be some 10-20 € licence i would take risks and chance, if it not works with, say for example WordPress 5.0, then it doesnt matter so much.

Yes, all upgrades to Admin Columns Pro require a working, valid license. Thus, if your license expires after a year and you don’t renew your license, and a new WordPress version is released that isn’t compatible with your older version of Admin Columns Pro, we don’t provide compatibility upgrades.

Even though you might find $ 249 steep, we believe it’s a small price to pay for a plugin providing this kind of functionality :-).

Dont take me wrong. Your plugin is so unique and worth all this money.

But WordPress core guys work as on amphetamines, new versions come one after another so fast. I am not complaining, just happy for this fact.

Change philosophy a bit and put in the future on your website old versions of plugin with changes for compatibility, minus all new features and options. Or double ways in admin panel what to upgrade, depending of licence.

Your team happy, buyers happy, both worlds satisfied.

Check a bit licences for Meta Slider. I bought developer licence without much hesitation.
