No plans since there is no finalized API to extend the sidebar, yet.
Would you write such a plugin for Gutenberg as a development job as soon as the API is finalized?

Now that 4.9.8 is out and we’re all testing Gutenberg, is it possible we might be closer to being able to implement this? Thanks!
There will be a new version by end of this month with support for Gutenberg.

Sorry to be a noodge… but was wondering if there is an update on this?
I updated a site to gutenberg and the client happens to use public preview all the time, so now they’re annoyed at me.

It’s still an aplha version but it should work.
