• We use the Safe SVG plugin to enable the use of scalable vector graphics images on our site. This plugin is very widely used and highly ranked. However, Enable Media Replace doesn’t seem to respect the ability to upload SVG files which Safe SVG provides.

When attempting to replace an existing SVG file, we get the error:
    _____________________________________________________________________________________________________
    ENABLE MEDIA REPLACE

    An error occurred

The file upload has been rejected for security reasons. WordPress might not allow uploading this extension or file type.

Please note that we can and do upload SVG files regularly, due to the aforementioned plugin. We don’t often replace them with new versions, however.

    Relevant details:
    WordPress version 6.7.2
    PHP version: 8.2.27
No relevant log entries found in PHP error log
Using the GD image post processing library (rather than Imagemagick) for better SVG support

    Hi esgeiger,

    Thanks for your message!

I was able to reproduce the issue, so I’ll forward it to our developers to fix. Unfortunately, I don’t have any ETA for this, but do stay tuned to your updates 🙂

    Best,
