    No. I have tried it and the metabox does not appear in the menu section. Check the next comment. It works for me!

    Did you check the “Screen Options” on the top right of the dashboard? If you click it, it should show a list titled Boxes where one of the checkboxes os for Widgets in Menu. It just could be unchecked.
