Compatibility with WordPress 5.5

WP 5.5 deprecated support for jQuery. Has this affected the bbPress Topics for Posts plugin?

It seems (for me at least) that WordPress 5.5 breaks the plugin. That is, when you choose ” Use a bbPress forum topic for comments on this post.”, no options drop down anymore. Thus even if you choose this option, it does not create a new topic in the forum. Fortunately, all posts that have already had a forum topic as comments still work. This is one of my favorite plugins and I think the feature should be included with BuddyPress or BBPress.
