That doesn’t seem to save forms that people navigate off the page and return to.. They get no warning of losing their entered data and when the page is reloaded, the fields are all empty. You made it sound like the form data entered, without submission, would be saved also. That is what I am looking for in particular. Something that will allow for the user to save their data entered to navigate off the page and go back to the page later to then continue where they left off. Does that make sense?
Is it better to just move away from contact form 7(as that is what we are currently using for these forms we want that functionality for) and use ninja forms + the save form add-on ?

Yes this addon plugin does saves every steps without form submission, but how will the user come back later and continue the form from where he/she has left off? This is what I have asked initially. I don’t need to just save the form at every step, but allow the users to save their progress and later continue in case of long forms. This functionality can be given to users either through a link which has a certain expiry period or they can login to complete their forms. This functionality is already present in gravity forms. Please let me know if either of these two functionality is present in your plugin or any other plugins.
