Complete cache getting wiped periodically

I have the same issue with updating a single post causing the entire cache to be deleted. This is problematic since we have multiple authors and people are not aware (or forget) that they have to change the setting from ‘Completely’ to ‘Page Specific’ for each post. I just switched to using this plugin and pre-warmed the cache by running curl against 2000+ URIs. The site then obviously is fast, however all it takes is one person to delete the entire cache which has happened a few times already. Although it’s not a bug technically, as a feature request, I would suggest that the default be set to ‘Page Specific’ instead of ‘Completely’ and that some security controls be put in place. Do you have any other suggestions on how to manage the cache? BTW, overall am loving the performance and simplicity of the plugin. Thanks!

Ah, so as a quick fix, I just reversed the order of the array and submitted a pull request. https://github.com/keycdn/cache-enabler/pull/38

It does seem that the cache still gets periodically wiped out by something else, not quite sure what it is. :/

Changing the option from “Completely” to “Page Specific” and then saving the post should save that setting so that it defaults to Page Specific for all other posts as well. Are you not experiencing this?

Yes, that “Page Specific” setting works fine. I actually submitted a pull request to change the default and I’ve changed the code locally on our systems. What I am at a loss to figure out is what periodically causes the entire cache to get wiped out. I had been using Auto Optimize and I’ve disabled that and the frequency of the cache wipes seems to have gone down, however it still occurs.

there is a plugin (forgot which one) which calls Autoptimize’s cache purge (much too) regularly and that makes AO trigger the Cache Enablers cache to be purged as well. so the thing will be identifiying the plugin that calls AO cache purge (AO does not purge it’s own cache automatically ever).

We have a similar problem – please read here:

If we edit a page the plugin deletes all pages of the same hierarchy level instead of the single page.

Example:
http://www.example.com/folder/blogpost-1
http://www.example.com/folder/blogpost-2
http://www.example.com/folder/blogpost-3

If we edit blogpost-2 all posts of this hierarchy level are deleted (i.e. http://www.example.com/folder/* instead of http://www.example.com/folder/blogpost-2)…
