• I had been using the monitor without event until yesterday, 4/13/15. Since then

I have not been able to add a new download. When I attempt to browse for a file the directory pop up window appears, but when I click on a folder, the underlying WP page nudges up with each click and the folder does not open. It also won’t let me upload a file either by adding it to Media or choosing an existing file in Media. It DOES generate a short code but I think this is done as default when you ADD a new download.

I can no longer “Insert” short code using the “Insert Download” button found on each page. The popup appears with the list of existing downloads but after selecting the download and clicking the “Insert Short Code” button nothing happens. The popup doesn’t even close unless I click the “X” button.

I tried deactivating it. I tried deleting it. I even went in the plugins directory and physically deleted it there so I could load the plug in from scratch but that didn’t work either.

I am desperate for some guidance here. I need to push this to the production server like yesterday and this is a major glitch for me.

Sorry to hear this is happening.

I suspect that there is a plugin or theme conflict on your website. Could you please try if the error still occurs with only this plugin activated with a default WordPress theme (e.g. twentyfifteen). I understand this can be a bit of a hassle but it’s the only way we can be sure it’s a bug in this plugin.

Thanks for the reply. I will try that right now and let you know.

That was it. I deactivated everything then turned on DLM. It worked. Now I have to go one by one to see where the conflict is. It was not the theme. I tried that first.

Thanks for the simple suggestion. I have used this troubleshooting method before with great results. Don’t know why is skipped me this time.

    Thanks again.

On my local server, DLM has a conflict with WP Smush.

Sorry to hear that, I’ll look into this.

    Hey bpascoal,

I’m testing this at the moment but can’t reproduce it. Does this conflict still exists with the latest version of Download Monitor and WP Smush?
