Complicated Variables

    Hi.

    I’m looking for something to solve our variable product issue.

    Lets say we have 1 product with 3 variables. Those variables are SIZE, MESH, DRILLED.

    However, not all SIZES offer mesh or drilled.

    So if they choose 3×3 they cannot add mesh or drilling. If they choose 6×6 they can add mesh but not drilling. If they choose 9×9 they can add both mesh and drilling.

    We cannot do them as individual products as the example i’m providing above is only the tip of the iceberg 🙂

    Please help!

    We can’t seem to work out a way of doing this using standard variable practices, nor can we find a plugin. I suppose its perhaps “dynamic pricing” in that the pricing/variables change depending on what variables are selected. But the dynamic pricing plugin we have come across doesnt appear to offer what we need.

    Hey,

    Not sure why this would be a problem? If a size doesn’t offer a particular mesh or drill then just don’t create a variation for it?

    Hi James.

    Sorry, perhaps I didnt explain clearly enough. The product itself is a Vent. The first variable is size. The second variable is mesh. The 3rd variable is drilling.

    The mesh variable is obviously YES/NO, but this has to be assigned to all sizes within this product, as SIZE is the first variable.

    If we took your suggestion and didn’t offer mesh on a 3×3 vent, then how would one offer mesh on a 9×9 vent, bearing in mind that size is the first variable?

    you specify the value of each variable on every variation,
    the fact that you don’t create a variation for mesh 3×3 drilled or mesh 3×3 not drilled, would have no impact on whether you created a variation for a mesh 9×9 drilled.
