Compression setting

Hello,

I was wondering where the quality/compression setting has gone in the latest version? I’m running 4.6 locally and its under Settings > Retina > advanced. But the live site is using the latest version and I can’t see it anywhere.

Without compression control my medium size images are always double the file size of my full size image upload (compressed in photoshop).

+1 ! I dearly miss this setting. My retina images are so heavy 🙁 A setting to lower the jpeg quality of the retina images generated by WP Retina 2x would be perfect!

Hi Jordy!

Thank you for your kind reply, as always.

I know the jpeg_quality filter and I have been using it for a long time.

However, my need here is a bit more subtle: I’d need to lower the jpeg_quality only for the retina images, in order to apply a “Compressive images” performance strategy (another link about this method).

I thought it was possible with the compression setting that used to be in WP Retina 2x, wasn’t it?

Done! Please update to version 4.7.9.
Now the Quality is back in the Settings, and it works well. Please tell me if it works for you 🙂
