Condensed Comments

I’m trying to get the “Condensed Content for Date and Category Archive” plug in to properly format my truncated content using my css, and I can’t figure out how to do it. I’m guessing that you need an if…then…else statement in php (if the plug in is used, format the page like this, otherwise, format as normal).
Can anyone help me with this?
