Conditional menu not working

I’m working a new site for my Study Association. I’m trying to couple specific menu’s for the different categories in my site. The site has 3 main components, namely ‘The Association’, ‘Career related’ and ‘Study related’. I want each of those and its pages under it to have a specific menu. I tried to do this using a plugin called ‘If Menu’ (https://nl.ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/if-menu/). Sadly the conditionals don’t seem to be working despite some pages fulfilling the conditional, e.g. author pages should display a certain menu item. I was wondering if anybody knew if this theme conflicts with the plugin or if there are other ways in which I could reach my goal of specific menu’s for the different components.
