Both forms work perfectly fine here. Maybe you have a browser extension installed that prefills the text field with a space or something? Maybe try testing on a couple of different browsers and computers. Also try private mode without any browser extensions installed.

Oh, nevermind. I found the error. You have a group name with the same name as your field name. All names should be unique.

Changed to unique Field names and still not working

Conditional Required Field does not validate unless you hit Next, then select “Previous” to go back and then select “Next”

Yeah, I just noticed there is a bug with disable_on_hide. if you remove this property from the group it will work. I realize this is only a workaround but it should do the trick in your case.

If I select an instrument and hit submit, the selection box to select the Finals Music is not validated but the box above is.
