Conditional value when a group is shown

Is it possible to set a value for a hidden field when a group is not hidden?
I mean, when a group is visible and has certain fields populated, I need to assign to a hidden field a value (eg “selected”, “active”, “yes” or “1”…). Otherwise this hidden field must be clean.
