Is there any way to prevent the PDF of the invoice from being accessible via URL but only attached to the email, as some are being indexed in search engines and this is a problem as it contains data such as name, surname, email, phone number, etc.

    Hello,

Thanks for your message. For the moment, PDF files related to invoices will always be accessible via URL, as they’re saved within a directory of the plugin.

However, it is technically impossible for bots to index the content of such files, unless your web-server lists files within directories with no HTML or PHP files. The PDF invoice file names are not guessable and search engines could be discouraged from indexing or following certain directories through htaccess or similar rules compatible with your web-server.

Moreover, the only front-end (public) page of our plugin that may display links to the PDF invoices is the “order details” page. However, it natively sets a “robots” meta-tag with the instructions for “noindex” and “nofollow”, hence no links to PDF files will be indexed.

We invite you to reach out to our team through our website should you need any help. On top of that, we don’t want to go off-topic on this forum by talking about functionalities available in the Pro/Commercial version of the plugin.

    Thank you,
    The VikWP Team
